Exhibiting at an offsite show is quite an undertaking requiring months of designing, planning and implementing. Thankfully the skilled team at KC were able to take it in their stride and produce a suitably impressive display that has proved to be a resounding success at the Harrogate Homebuilding & Renovation Show.
Preparations for the event started 6 months ago, by outlining a faux client brief/proposal for the design concept, and considerable time and energy went into the layout and detailing, to ensure that a good proportion of what KC can do was represented within the scheme. The materials, finishes and colours were chosen to reflect a moody, luxurious and ultimately unified yet timeless appeal that would withstand the test of time, and look equally as good 10 years from now. Of particular note was the slatted wood paneling detail, and the leathered granite worktop/splashback solution, which garnered much praise from the general public; all of whom enquired what it was, whilst being drawn to touch and feel it’s beautiful and tactile surface.
The finished stand measuring 7m by 4m consisted of the actual display structure (made in house), with black effect wood slatted panels to the cladding the exposed exterior sides. Dominating the internal space was a 4.75m island with leathered granite worktops, Bora cooktop and an adjoining high level table to seat 4-6, featuring a slatted wood paneled base with LED lighting, and finished off with a matching granite top with a beveled edge detail – a detail borrowed from the perimeter of the Bora XBO oven and repeated for design continuity.
A bank of furniture was proposed en longueur to the back wall, accommodating a full height larder cabinet, oven housing featuring an BORA XBO oven with accompanying deep warming drawer, and 2 housings with Liebherr in-column fridge and in-column freezer. Positioned to the right of the tall bank, a Bi-fold wall cabinet conceals a built-in microwave, with LED lighting under, and to the right hand return the sink run consists of a pull out bin, fully integrated dishwasher, and feature granite clad sink with Quooker tap.
Sitting within the studwork at the far left hand end of the display sits an exclusive in-frame KC show stopping bar, with 2 panel butt hinge doors that open to reveal a dazzling solid oak interior full of bronze mirrors, light shelves, in column ambient lighting, glass hanging racks and central display cases; as well as open cross cabinet wine storage, flanking an integrated push-to-open Liebherr wine climate cabinet.
Everyone in the KC team played a part in the show, with the aim of offering a unique lifestyle kitchen design that illustrated their carpentry and design capabilities, and provided a bespoke solution that in reality would be as individual as their clients own tastes. Drawing on their expertise and decades of experience, the KC team felt that there is no need to simply duplicate what else is out there, but instead devise an interesting brief with a particular set of considerations and work collaboratively to ensure the best possible results.
Taking the time to explore the show, the senior Design Team had on occasion wondered around the exhibition halls and were very impressed with what they saw, ‘It’s pleasing to see such a varied and creative mix of home building solutions, including everything from sustainable building materials, to roofing tiles, to artists, architects and so on’.
Recognizing how worthwhile a trip to the show can be for anyone renovating their home or embarking on a self-build, KC recommended that some of their newer clients visit the exhibition. And of those that did had nothing but praise for the show, further emphasized by them having acquired many new contacts and suppliers to work with.
Over all the Team at KC Design House are delighted with the finished result and the positive feedback from all the lovely people they met at the Harrogate HBRS. They wish to thank you all for your comments and for enquiring about our services for your upcoming projects.
‘‘On behalf of KC Design House, I would like to thank the KC team for all their hard work and commitment to the KC Brand, together we have accomplished an outstanding result.
