Exceeding client expectations is always a top KC Design House priority, but being awarded by industry bodies for our work is that extra cherry on the cake!
And so, we were thrilled when KC Senior Designer, Charlotte Jewkes, was bestowed the prestigious title of ‘Young Designer of the Year’ in the Kbsa 2021 Designer Awards.
Her entry comprised a full lifestyle kitchen project at a Holmfirth property that demonstrated Charlotte's ability to push boundaries whilst keeping to her clients' 'wish list'. The result was a spectacular yet functional interior space that enhanced the clients' environment as as their day-to-day living.
Just as with all KC Design House projects, the bespoke design evolved through a number of home visits and detailed design meeting, taking into account not only the
structural elements of the space but also the homeowners’ lifestyle, cooking approach and needs.
Working on all elements, from surveying through the room design and interior styling, the client described the finished space created by Charlotte as “life-changing”.
Charlotte beat off stiff competition to top the Kbsa's 'Young Designer of the Year' award category, which highlights the exceptional talent of independent UK kitchen and bathroom retailers.
Commenting on her win, she said: “Through listening and applying our detailed design process, we were able to interpret and fulfil our clients’ brief, and for me personally, it was most rewarding to see them enjoying their new lifestyle space.
"To be recognised by the Kbsa in this way was certainly a career highlight, and to know
the space has made such a difference to the clients is amazing."
Joining the KC Design House team as an 18-year-old apprentice, Charlotte’s keen eye for detail was evident from the start. She went on to gain an Open Learning Diploma in Interior Design & Decoration through the KLC School of Design Chelsea Harbour in London, qualifying in 2018 and rising to Senior Designer with KC in 2019.
Today, Charlotte works on complete, high-end kitchen and interior design projects throughout Yorkshire and beyond, with clients as far north as Cumbria and Scotland.
Combining functionality with creative flair, she creates spectacular rooms that are equally a joy to gaze at as they are to use.
Whether designing standout lifestyle kitchens, master bedrooms, home studies, or luxurious wine rooms, the most rewarding part of Charlotte’s job remains the same...seeing the individually designed room complete having achieved her clients’ interior aspirations.
